To Our Exhibitors
Greetings!
To begin with, we want to express our heartfelt condolences to everyone who suffered loss or damage in the East Japan Earthquake Disaster of March 2011.
Since the first OSAKA AUTOMESSE was held in 1997, we are already looking forward to holding our 16th annual exhibition.
We want to thank all of you who have exhibited, beginning with the people involved in the exhibition, for your help and cooperation which has made this possible, and once again express out deep gratitude and appreciation.
The East Japan Earthquake Disaster which occurred on March 11 this year caused devastating damage of an unprecedented scale across the entire region of Northeast Japan. Amid all that, the disaster at TEPCO’s nuclear reactor site has had a huge impact on the lives of citizens as well as on the entire national economy of Japan. The automotive industry is no exception to this, and has suffered enormous damage, and because it has been unable to supply parts, the impact of that damage has spread to automobile factories around the world.
However, while it will still take a long time until complete recovery, whenever one witnesses news of the rapid pace of recovery that is going on, one feels the surging power and inner resources of Japan.
And so, when we thought about what it is that we could do to be helpful, we concluded that exactly what was necessary was to provide forward-looking energy. Rather than being disheartened, we are going ahead to hold the Osaka Auto Messe in the belief that life going on as usual will be of assistance.
Recently, we have seen in the news that the giant German automaker Daimler’s fuel cell electric car has succeeded in going around the world in 125 days. This fuel cell electric car is an automobile that runs on the electricity produced through the chemical reaction of hydrogen with the oxygen in the air. Day by day and month by month, automobiles are evolving forward. This is a step that opens our eyes to what kind of form the next generation of cars will take. And at the same time, we are proud to play a supporting role in opening the curtain on a new phase in the ongoing development of the automobile industry.
We offer our greetings to you along with our earnest hope that you will continue in the future to understand the motive behind our exhibition and support us with your aid and cooperation.
